Writing an introduction was never on my to do list. As much as I enjoy a good yap, I absolutely hate talking about myself. What do I say? I am a 30 something year-old wife and mother to a beautiful baby boy. I have worked in corporate American since I was 23, working for some of the country’s biggest insurance companies.  I love animals, rom coms, cooking fabulous meals, entertaining and trying my hardest to stay healthy, exercise, balance my friendships, relationship and motherhood. I was also 100% unfulfilled in my life. 

I have everything I ever prayed for and yet I find myself feeling like something was missing. I tried to push that feeling aside because as a millennial black woman, we are taught to be grateful, to suffer in silence and be happy with what we have. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was leaving something on the table, that I had just a little more to give.

I was never a girl of many passions, I didn’t knit, or paint. I would much rather go to Home and buy a dresser than forage one from a rummage sale and refinish it (power to the DIY girlies!) I don’t roller skate, do aerial yoga or enjoy hiking (don’t ask me to go, the answer is NO, but I will meet you for drinks afterwards). I like to write, eat and so far, motherhood has been pretty cool.

I’m not starting this blog to change the world, influence you to buy products or look to me for every decision in your life (trust me I am not qualified) I am starting this blog for every 30 something woman who feels unfulfilled, who has everything she prayed for and might be a little scared to admit its not enough. I plan on sharing parts of my world, recipes, personal posts, business and product reviews and SOME advice (because if you’re like me, you hate when a sentence starts with “you should…”  mostly, I want to connect, share and maybe put a little bit of joy back into the world.

 I am forever grateful that you read this far and I hope to see you here again soon.
